Tawfique Chowdhury (Also known as Abu Yusuf) is a Muslim scholar of Indo/Pakistani descent.

Shaikh Tawfique Chowdhury is the Chairman and CEO of Mercy Mission - a global movement dedicated to achieving the vision of Rasoolullah (saw). He has, from an early age, excelled in academic studies, consistently being awarded prizes and accolades for his various achievements.

Shaikh Tawfique is a graduate of Medicine from the University of Bond, Australia, as well as a graduate of the college of Shariah at the Islamic University of Madinah with the rank of “excellence.” While in Medina, he studied classical texts with local scholars and obtained permission to teach from some of them.

Understanding the need for formal Islamic education in the West, Tawfique Chowdhury founded the Al Kauthar Institute, which has had thousands of students in five continents.

Being a prolific speaker, Sheikh Tawfique Chowdhury has travelled internationally, sharing his knowledge worldwide. He is renowned for specializing in Islamic Jurisprudence - particularly Islamic finance, Muslim Family Law and Islamic Medical Ethics.
