Other Wars & Events in the End of Time
Warning: Many of the narrations on this page could be weak. The narrations that are valid are full of symbolism and metaphors, so they should not be interpreted literally. For valid Hadith narrations about the End Times, attributed to Prophet Mohammad (p) directly, you may need to analyze them numerically to fully understand them. On this page, we are presenting wars & events, other than wars with the Romans (Europeans). To read about the Roman Invasions of the lands of Muslims in the End Times, click here.
Conquest of India Thawban said that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Allah has protected from the hellfire two groups of my Ummah: a group that will conquer India and a group that will be with Jesus son of Mary - alaihima salat wa salaam- (peace be upon them) ." (Ahmad, Nisa'i, and Tabarani) Abu Huraira said that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم mentioned India and said, "A group of you will conquer India, Allah will open (conquer) it for them to the extent that they (Muslims) bring its (India's) kings chained. Allah will forgive their (Muslim fighters') sins. When they (Muslim fighters) return back (from India), they will find Son of Mary (meaning Jesus has descended) in AshSham (Syria)." (Nuaim bin Hammad’s Kitab Al-Fitan) Abu Huraira said, "The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم promised us the conquest of India. If I come across that (in my life time), I will spend my soul and wealth. If I get killed (in the conquest of India), then I will be among the best of martyrs. And if I return (alive from the conquest of India), then I will be Abu Huraira, the freed (meaning a man who has been freed from Hellfire)." (Ahmad, Nisa'i, and Al-Haakim)
Fighting the Turks There are many Hadiths and narrations that mention that the Turks will attack Muslims. Some of these narrations refer to the invasions of the Mongols that put an end to the reign of them Abbas dynasty. However, there are some narrations that say the Turks will attack again immediately before the Sufyani appears and later after the Mahdi appears. Today, the Turks and most of the Turkic people are Muslims. So, the Turks in these Hadiths most likely refer to a non-Muslim ethnic group.
In the narration below, we find they will first attack Azerbaijan through Armenia.
Amaar bin Yusr said: "The sign of the Mahdi is: The Turks sweep down against you. Your Caliph who seeks wealth dies and you elect a successor after him who is weak so he gets deposed after 2 years from the Bay'a. A Khusf (collapse) occurs to the West end of Damascus mosque. The emergence of three individuals in AshSham (Greater Syria). The attack of People of the West (Christians from the West or Muslims from Morocco, Algeria and Tunis) on Egypt. This is the beginning of the reign of the Sufyani." (Nuaim bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitan )
Ibn Masud said: "If the Turks (possibly Russians) and Khazar appear in Al-Jazeera (Arabian Peninsula or Northern Iraq) and Azerbaijan while the Romans appear in Omq (valley in Antioch & Northern Syria) and its outskirts. The Romans will fight a man of Qais tribe from the people of Qansareen. The Sufyani in Iraq fights the People of the East. In each side, there is an enemy. After he (the Sufyani) fights them for 40 days and does not get support (from Muslims in other regions), he reconciles with the Romans such that neither party will owe the other one anything." (Nuaim bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitan )
Al-Walid bin Muslim said: "The black banners (battalions) will remain victorious against those who oppose them until the Turks (possibly Russians) enter (Muslim lands) through the door of Armenia." He added: "The first sign of the signs of their demise is their dispute among each other." (Nuaim bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitan )
Artat bin Al-Munzir said: "The Mahdi will send the the first battalion he formed to (fight) the Turks (possibly Russians). He defeats them and takes what they have from spoils and money. Then, he marches to Syria and conquers it. Then, he emancipates (frees) all the slaves he has and give their owners their value." (Nuaim bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitan, Jalal-uddine AsSuyuti's Al-Urf Al-Wardi fi Akhbar Al-Mahdi, a part of Al-Hawi li Al-Fatawa)
Artat bin Al-Munzir said: " The Sufyani will fight the Turks (possibly Russians). Their eradication (uprooting) will be at the hands of the Mahdi. The first battalion formed by the Mahdi will be send to (fight) the Turks." (Nuaim bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitan, Jalal-uddine AsSuyuti's Al-Urf Al-Wardi fi Akhbar Al-Mahdi, a part of Al-Hawi li Al-Fatawa)
Al-Walid said: "The redness and stars we have seen are not the Ayat (signs). The star of the Ayat (signs) is a star that flips (or turns) in the horizons in (the month of ) Safar or in (the 2 months of) Rabi (the first and second Rabi), or in (the month of) Rajab. Once this happens, Khankan marches the Turks; next, Romans of Zawahir (will marsh) with the banners (battalions) and Crosses." (Nuaim bin Hammad's book Kitab Al-Fitan)

Abi Bakra said that Abdullah bin Amro bin Al-Aas told him: "It (the time) is approaching when Banu Qantura will drive you out of the land of Iraq. Abu Bakra said: "Do we return? Abdullah bin Amro bin Al-Aas replied: "This will be pleasing for you. You will return and live a good life." (Nuaim bin Hammad's book Kitab Al-Fitan)
Makhul said that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: " The Turks (Russians) will make two invasions: one of them will be in which they will devastate Azerbaijan, and in the second one, they will reach to the shore of the Euphrates (river)." (Nuaim bin Hammad's book Kitab Al-Fitan)
Ka'b bin Alqama said: "The Turks (possibly Russians) will invade the Jazeerah (Northern Iraq) and their horses drink from the Euphrates. Allah will afflict them with the plague that kills them and none of them will survive except one man." He is also quoted saying: " They will land in Aamid, drink from Tigres and Euphrates, and go freely around Al-Jaeerah (Arabian Peninsula or Northern Iraq) and no one will be be able to do anything about them. So, Allah (s.t.) will afflict them with a snow, wind, and ice so they become non-moving (meaning they freeze to death). People will come back and say Allah has caused them to perish and eliminated your enemy and none of them remained, all of them perished." (Nuaim bin Hammad's book Kitab Al-Fitan)
Yunus bin Saif Al-Khulani said: " You will reconcile with the Romans through a security treaty. Then, together, you will invade the (lands of the) Turks (possibly refers to the Russians) and Kerman (a region currently in Iran) and Allah will conquer them for you..." (Nuaim ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan)
Artat bin Al-Munzir said: "The Mahdi will send the the first battalion he formed to (fight) the Turks (possibly refers to Russians). Fighting Iran Jaber bin Samra based on Nafi bin Otba reports that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: " ...You will marsh against (or attack) the Arabian Peninsula and Allah will open (conquer) it, then Persia and Allah will open (conquer) it. Then, you will marsh against (attack) the Romans' land and Allah will open (or conquer) it. Then, you will marsh against (attack) the Dajjal (Anti-Christ) (or Dajjal's land), and Allah will open (conquer) it." Then, Nafi said (to Jaber): "O' Jaber, we will not see the Dajjal emerge until the Romans' land has been conquered (by Allah for the Muslims)." (Sahih Muslim and Ibn Majah)
The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Even if but a single day remains in this world, Allah will certainly prolong that day so that one from my family [Hazrat Mahdi (as)] can take possession of Mount (or the land of) Daylam (in Iran) and the city of Constantinople (Istanbul)." (Al-Burhan fi Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir al-Zaman, p. 74 and Death-Doomsday-The Hereafter and the Portents of the End Times, p. 440)
Al-Mahdi (as) will conquer Constantinople and Mount Daylam (in Iran). (Al-Haythami's Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi Alamat al-Mahdi al- Muntazar, p. 27)

Ka'b said: "...You will enter into a reconciliation treaty with them for 10 years... You and the Romans will invade an enemy (located) behind Constantinople. When you return for that invasion, you will see Constantinople... Then, you and they will invade Al-Kufa (Shia city in Iraq) and cause devastation to it ... Then, you and the Romans together will invade some of the people of the East (probably Iran and Russia)..." (Nuaim ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan)
Abdullah bin Masud said that the Prophet said صلى الله عليه وسلم : " Between the Muslims and the Romans, there will be a Hudna (truce) and reconciliation treaty to the extent that they will fight together against their enemy (probably Russia) and they (Muslims & Romans) will split the war acquisitions. Then, the Romans with the Muslims will invade Persia (Iran)." (Nuaim ibn Hammad's Kitab al-Fitan)
AshSham, Iraq, Egypt, Kuwait Narrated from Ka'b bin Alqama : "There will be, after the Fitna (trouble) in AshSham, an eastern one (Fitna) which will be the devastation of the kings and the humiliation of the Arabs, until the people of the Maghrib come out." (Nuaim bin Hammad, Kitab al-Fitan, No. 53)
The people of AsSham (Greater Syria) will take prisoner the tribes of Egypt. (Ibn Hajar Haytahami, Al-Qawl Al-Mukhtasar fi Alamat Al-Mahdi Al-Muntazar, p. 49)
Ibn Hajr Al-'Asqalani narrated that Abu Idris Al-Khaulani heard from Nahik bin Surim Al-Sakuni that the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "You will fight the unbelievers until the remnant of you fight on the River Jordan, you on the East of it and they on the West of it." (Ahmad)
The following narration seems to be about Kuwait or Israel: "And war in a country smaller than the end bone of the spinal cord, the World will gather for its sake, as if it is the richest nation in the world for which the world has gathered to feast around. Its leader will surrender the banner to the leader of all Evil, which will come from the furthest Western shores, then the beginning of the end as it wails to all the World to come to its aid. The leader will regain his throne and Iraq will be destroyed in the confrontation at the end of time. The leader of the tiny nation will fight the Army of the Mahdi, and the same tiny nation is again threatened with destruction because its leader is the cause of its corruption....the Mahdi orders his execution and the small bone returns to the main body again". (Qalda bin Zayd bin Baraka's Asma Masalik Li Ayyam Mahdi: Malik Li Kull id-Dunya Bi Amr Allah El-Malik)
Baghdad is destroyed by fire in the End Times...(Resalat Khuruj Al-Mahdi, vol. 3, p. 177)
Doomsday will not come until Iraq is attacked and innocent people in Iraq will seek shelter in AshSham. AshSham will be reconstructed and Iraq will be reconstructed. (Muntakhab Kanzul Ummal, vol. 5 p. 254)
Muslim bin Abi Bakra said that Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Some of my people will settle on low-lying land, which they will call Al-Basra (this probably refers to Baghdad which was not established at the time of the Prophet), beside a river called Dajla (the Tigris) over which there is a bridge. Its people will be numerous and it will be one of the cities of immigrants. (or one of the cities of Muslims, according to the version of Ibn Yahya who reported from Abu Ma'mar). At the end of time, the descendants (people) of Qantura' (Turkic Mongolians) will come with broad faces and small eyes and land on the bank of the river. Its (Basra's) inhabitants will then split into three groups: one of them will follow cattle and (live in) the desert but they will perish, another of which will seek security arrangement for themselves (from the Turkic Mongolians) but they will perish, but a third will put their children behind their backs and fight the invaders, and they will be the martyrs." (Abu Dawud)
Anas bin Malik said that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: " O Anas, the people will settle down in cities, and one of them will be called Al-Basra or al-Busayra. If you should pass by it or enter it, avoid its salt-marches, its Kilaa (vicinity in Basra), its marketplace, and the gate of its princes, and stay in its suburbs (or outskirts), because for it, there will be Khusf (landslide or the Earth will swallow up people), Qazf (bombardment, pelting with stones, Earth will throw out the dead people after they get buried ) and Rajf (tremor or earthquake), and there will be people who will spend the night in it and become apes and swine in the morning. (Abu Dawud) Al-Tibi commented that the Maskh is supposed to happen to those who do not believe in Qadar." (Abu Dawud)
"The people of Kufa will be divided into three groups (or parties). One group will join the Sufyani army. These are the most wicked people Allah created. Another group will wage war against them, and these people are the honorable servants of Allah. Another group will join the pillagers, and they are sinners." (An-Najmu Athaqib Fi Bayan Aal Al-Mahdi min Awlad Ali Bin Abi Talib)
According to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم , "The people of Iraq will be divided into three groups. One part will join the looters. One group will flee, leaving their families behind. And one group will fight and kill. Prepare yourselves for Doomsday when you see this." (Faraid Fawaid Fikr fi Imam al-Mahdi al-Muntazhar)
"The tribulation in AshSham (Greater Syria) will calm down on the one hand and flare up again on another. This corruption will not end until an angel from the sky calls: 'The Mahdi is your leader. The Mahdi is your caliph.'" (Risalat Khuruj al-Mahdi, p. 63)
Our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: " There will be such troubles and calamities that nobody will be able to find a place of shelter. These woes will move around AshSham (Greater Syria), fall upon Iraq and tie the hands and feet of the Arabian Peninsula. A group of Muslims will fight against troubles in the steppes. Nobody will feel any sympathy for them or even say, 'Alas!' As they try to remedy their woes from one side, the woes will emerge again on the other side." (Muntakhab Kanz Al-Ummal, vol. 5, pp. 38-39)

Abu Nadhrah says: "We were sitting in the company of Jaber bin Abdullah when he said: " Soon the people of Iraq will neither receive any food (grain) nor any money.' We asked, Why would such a thing happen? He replied: 'Because of the Al-Agam (Persians or Non-Arabs).' He then said: 'Soon the people of AshSham (Greater Syria) will neither receive any money nor grain.' We asked as to why this would happen. He replied: 'Because of the Romans.' Then he was silent a while and then said the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said 'there will be at the end of my nation a Caliph (possibly Al-Mahdi) who grabs money with his hands (and give it away) without counting it... ". (Sahih Muslim)

Abu Huraira said that Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Iraq will withhold its dirhams and qafiz; Syria will withhold its mudd and dinar and Egypt will withhold its irdab and dinar. You will return to that position from where you started. You will return to that position from where you started. The flesh and blood of Abu Huraira bears testimony to it." (Sahih Muslim)
There will be devastation all around the World. Ultimately, Egypt will also be ruined, but until Basra is destroyed, Egypt will remain secure. The destruction of Basra will be due to Iraq's destruction. Meanwhile, the downfall of Egypt will come with the drying up of the Nile... (Qurtubi, Mukhtasar Tazkirah, p. 530)
"When there comes to you a document from the East that will be read out to you as: "From the slave of Allah, 'Abdullah, Amir al-Mu'mineen (Prince of the Faithful Believers)," then await another document coming to you from the West that will be read out to you as: "From the slave of Allah, 'Abd-Rahman, Amir al-Mu'mineen (Prince of the Faithful Believers)." Then, by He (God) in whose hand is Huzayfa's soul, you will fight them near Al-Qantarah, and they will expel you far, far away from the land of Egypt and the land of AshSham, and an Arabian woman will be sold at the stairs of Damascus for twenty-five dirhams." (Nuaim bin Hammad, Kitab al-Fitan, No. 52)
Abdullah ibn Hawalah said: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Matters will run their course until you become three armies: an army in AshSham (Syria), an army in 'Iraq, and an army in the Yemen." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, which one I should join ? " He said: "You should go to AshSham, for it is the best of Allah's lands, and the best of His servants will be drawn to there. If you do not (go to AshSham), go to the Yemen and drink from its wells. For Allah has guaranteed me that He will look after AshSham and its people." (Abu Dawud)

The people of the East will be defeated to the extent that (people of the Maghreb) will land in Al-Ramla (in Palestine). Something will happen between the people of AshSham and the people of the Maghreb that will make people of the Maghreb angry. So, people of the Maghreb will say: We came to aid you and you do what you are doing, we will quit (tilting the balance of power) between you and people of the East ! Al-'As said: The weaker people will remain behind, and their group will not have any ships in which they can cross. So, Allah will send them a goat to create a path for them across the sea. The goat will cross over and the water will not cover its hooves. The people will see it and say: "The goat! The goat! Follow it!" So the people will all cross over, following its traces, then the sea will go back to the how it used to be before. The enemy will cross over in ships. When the people of North Africa see them, they will flee from North Africa along with those Muslims who had been in Andalusia, until they enter Al-Fustat (used to be capital of Egypt and is located in the Southern edge of today's Cairo). That enemy will come forward until they settle in the area between Marbut and the Pyramids, at a distance of five "burud" from them, and they will fill that area with evil.
So, Asbis and his army will settle at Manaf, at a distance of one "barid" from al-Fustat, and the battalions of Muslims will go out to face them, and Allah will grant them (Muslims) victory over them (Abyssinia), so they will kill (in the battlefield, many of) them and take (the rest of) them as prisoners, until an (Abyssinian) will be sold for a cloak." Huzaifa said that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said : "When the dark people (possibly, the Abyssinians, meaning Ethiopians) come after the Arabs, they will be defeated and thrown into the lowest part of the Earth. While these circumstances exist, the Sufyani will come with three hundred and sixty men until he reaches Damascus. After a month, he will be followed by thirty thousand from Kalb (tribe). He will send an army to Iraq and kill one hundred thousand in Az-Zawra (possibly refers to Baghdad)..." (Nuaim Bin Hammad's Kitab Al-Fitan, Tabarani, and Abu Amru Uthman bin Saeed Ad-Dani )

in which much will perish...In the Hijri
year 1400 and count two or three decades... the trustworthy Mahdi will appear, he will
fight the whole World and both the Dhaalleen (The Misguided, meaning the Christians) and the Maghdoob Alayhim
(Those who have deserved the wrath of God, meaning the Jews) will join against him with the hypocrites in the land of Isra and Miraj
at Megiddo (Mageddon). The Queen of the World
and deception, an adulteress called America, who will incite the world to
deviation and infidelity, will come out against him...The Jews of the World at that time will have the
upper hand and will rule the Holy Land and the holy city. And all nations will
come to fight by sea and air, except those in the land of extreme cold and the
land of extreme heat. And the Mahdi will see that all the World plots against
him, but he will see that Allah's plan is stronger than all, and he will see
that the World belongs to Allah and to Him it will return, and that the World is
but a tree that Allah wills him to rule from its roots to its branches.......and
Allah will hit them (unbelievers) with a disastrous punishment and burn their
land and seas and skies and the sky will rain down a harmful shower, the people
of the Earth will curse the infidels, and Allah shall will the defeat of the
unbelievers.”
